My son has been diagnosed with SPD. The early intervention coordinator and OT both have said they don't think he is on the spectrum because he is too bright. They've only spent an hour with him at most so they don't see some of the behaviors that we see. They think that all his quirks are simply related to SPD. Here of SOME of the things we are seeing:
Poor eye contact when talking
Makes sounds (ding ding at train crossing, doorbell when pull up at doctor’s office)
Flaps hands when excited
Have to use same bowls or cups for certain foods
