I made a blog entry about it but I am really desperate for answers. I need to know if anyone has ever gone through this or if you have an autistic child who has also... it would really help to get some info on how to handle it.

Hello I'm Clonetos I am a college student and I have aspergers syndrome. Autism for me is a everyday thing and i barely focus on it now than i did Years ago. I had to deal with hardships and tribulations on this journey but i believe I have been blessed. I have a family who loves me friends who care about me and I plan to live my dream. My goal in life is to make giant monster movies and Prove once and for all that we autistics are not some paperweights no we are people we want to be treated equally and fairly. My mothers love and my fathers discipline have made me the man i am today.

I'm one of those children who was deemed retarded by the second grade only to discover an unusually high IQ.

Unfortunately the town I'm in, and sadly have returned to only to realize the reality of the situation; is so underdeveloped and unable to diagnose even the simplest of conditions that I was completely overlooked and medicated with Ritalin to which I had violently reacted to in my youth.

I started a support group in February in Rincon, GA. 35 people showed up for the August meeting and I am expecting more than that at the Oct. 2 ,meeting. There will be a special speaker at that meeting.

I have known that something was different about my oldest child from a very early age. I have read many books about Asperger's and think he has it. My pediatrician referred my son to a psychiatrist but all he wanted to do is put him on prozac on the first visit.

Can anyone identify the best (or some of the best) schools in the U.S. for children with Aspergers Syndrome (boarding school or other)?

Do any of you out there have any suggestions on what I could do to get formally diagnosed with Aspergers. My therapist says that there are roadblocks to me getting this dianosis. One is my age (29) they (the mental health facility I am reciving treatment at) can not get my school records. Two is that the only people on staff who are qualifyed to make this diagnosis only work with peds. The only reason that I am looking into this is because Aspergers is part of my problem ( PTSD, Depression, and Generalized Anxiety) and I need my treatment plan to take all of my issues into account.
