Question of the Day: The Holidays are Approaching

submitted by kidspeak

Question of the Day: The holidays are approaching. How can I prepare my child?
The holidays have a tendency to sneak up on us. September went by like nobody’s business....soon it will be Halloween…..then Thanksgiving will hit us like a ton of bricks……then before you know it, it’s Hanukah, Christmas and then New Year’s. Whew! For me, the holidays are typically a whirlwind of preparation and stress, but of course filled with wonderful traditions and fun time with family. If the holidays can be stressful for us, think how stressful they can be for our children.

Initium House trailer - pLD Creative & AutismSpot

When I learned about the Autism Support Program that Millie Gore, Ed.D., and her team at Midwestern State University developed, it filled me full of hope. Dr. Gore has devoted her life to making the world a better place for those with special needs. Through the creation of Initium House and the Autism Support Program, Dr. Gore has created a legacy and model that universities around the world will follow.

Fresh New Look

submitted by KentPotter

Fresh is a wonderful word. There is nothing like strolling through an outdoor market in Kauai sampling the fresh fruit while waves crash in the background nearby. Driving in a convertible down Highway 1 in California and looking out over the ocean and the fresh air that tells you nightfall is coming soon. The fresh smell of a baby as they are being swaddled after their evening bath. Fresh. It sometimes says it all.

8:50am - return a text message saying I am good on coffee and don't need anyone to pick some up for me before filming
9:29am - called someone to grab me a grande mild in a venti cup with non-fat milk to the top because i had the feeling i would need more
9:47am - production meeting started and reviewed a number of important business issues with a lead of one of our companies

Art or Science

submitted by KentPotter

Is art a science or is science an art? There are infinite answers to this question. To begin delving into such matters, I would prefer a Partagas 160 Cifuentes Especial in one hand and a fine spirit in the other. Toss in a little technology chatter and you have yourself a really good evening ahead.

Washington, D.C.

submitted by KentPotter

I just returned from a great trip to South Riding, Virginia (thanks S&H! for a great time) and Washington, D.C. The short adventure served three purposes. 1) Meet our nephew (Ryan) 2) Travel with Sam on an airplane (it's been at least 3-4 years since we have tried this) and 3) Meetings and Filming for AutismSpot in D.C. ....oh, and 3a) go to the Georgetown vs Seton Hall game.
