Environmental Protection Agency Fails Audit

A recent audit conducted on the Environmental Protection Agency finds that they are in bad shape and in need of a complete overhaul. In a prepared statement on Friday, the EPA's new administrator commented "It is clear that we are not doing an adequate job of assessing and managing the risks of chemicals in consumer products, the workplace and the environment."

A Toxic Donation?

Does a $5 million donation to FDA Subcommittee Chairman Martin Philbert's Risk Science Center at the University of Michigan present a conflict of interest? The donation was made by Charles Gelman, an outspoken critic of regulation and a retired medical supply manufacturer, was once identified by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as the state's second worst polluter.
