Another Vaccine Case To Pay Attention To

There's another case in the courts about possible vaccine injury. In 1974 a child receiving the DPT vaccine suffered seizures and high fever. A government physician is arguing that the child, now an adult, had an undiagnosed, independent, underlying neurological condition that predated the vaccination.

Canadian Mothers Penning Books on Autism

Two Canadian mothers, neither with children on the spectrum, have come together to write two book called "Welcome to My Autistic World" and "Autism Epidemic: Shaking the System". After having been a volunteer at her child's elementary school, Litsa Kamateros noted how ASD children were treated differently by their peers, and even by some parents. This sparked an idea on raising awareness and creating the children's picture book "Welcome to my Autistic World".

Compromise: Is it possible?

Autism has been in the news a lot lately, children being removed from planes, and a family being asked to not attend church services because of disruptive behavior. Add to that comments made by a nationally syndicated talk show host, and all made national news stories and were debated for weeks.

Canada's Cash Crunch

Peter Kormos, vocal critic of Canada's programs for autistic children and familes is speaking out. The chances of clearing a long and crowded waiting list in Canada is roughly 50%. There are currently 1,400 children in the Ontario province receiving services. Sadly there are over 1,100 languishing on waiting lists that aren't moving due to lack of funding.

Police Chief Orders Autistic Girl Out Of Restaurant

A poorly handled situation by Police Chief Dennis Rushton has recently been brought to light by a parent of an autistic daughter. Autism Task Force Formed

Due to a rise of nearly 3000% in a diagnosis of autism from 1990 to 2006 in the State of Alabama, State Representative Cam Ward, and Lt. Govenor Jim Folsom formed a bipartisan task force to counter the issues associated with autism. The task force will work together to bring better resources, services, and education to a state that is lagging far behind others. Cam Ward has a child with autism.
