Does Age Play A Factor In Speech Therapy?

Fore or 4

On Saturday, we enjoyed a beautiful, clear Texas sky as we stood on the driving range. Just a week ago, Sam was very disappointed when his golf teacher didn't find him at the driving range. We went hit his entire bucket of balls but the teacher never showed. Teaching golf is something Sam does not want me to attempt. We are taking a "family" class, but I have only seen the one other family from a distance. I have only seen a teacher once. After the previous week I made the decision to pursue a refund and we would tackle golf in a different way.

One of the autism support groups we participate in had a get together at It's a Sensory World in Dallas today. These types of groups are a fantastic way to connect with other parents and their children who are on the spectrum.

Horton Hears a WHO

I got a phone call a week or so ago from Kaitlyn, my oldest and Sam and Luke’s favorite sitter, “MOM…we have to take the boys to see Horton! Call Angie and see if she’ll let us take them!”
I was not at all surprised when Angie not only gave us permission, but thanked us for even asking!
So we’re planning to take the boys…soon.

Golf Lesson #1

submitted by KentPotter

I was told Sam probably would never want to play sports, he would likely be uncoordinated, get frustrated, and overall dislike sports because of his gross and fine motor issues. HA! He showed the doubters, didn't he. He's a blue/white belt in martial arts, he likes dribbling and shooting hoops, he has soccer evaluations for the upcoming season tonight, and he had his first golf lesson on Saturday evening.
