Introducing Dads Coffee......

AutismSpot Party @ The G's

submitted by KentPotter

We have an incredible team made up of very talented and committed people. Every single day, AutismSpot team members are hard at work building content, filming, designing, coding, speaking, consulting, writing, advising, or teaching. Being agile and transparent are key components that make a team like this work so well. When someone says they are going to do something, they do it. We rely on everyone to play their role because there is no room for redundancy. Like autism, there is never a day off or lack of focus.

We...

submitted by KentPotter

When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player. My best friend (Bryan) and I would spend hours passing, kicking, shooting, chasing, dribbling, and talking about life as famous soccer stars. We started out in kindergarten and we were very successful. We played a lot of soccer, we won a lot of championships, we shared laughter and we shared tears in defeat. We. The common word here is We. We were a team. We would not be separated. Our families respected and cared for one another. We were brothers.

Like to Travel?

submitted by CristinaBusu

That would be a NO!
Although, I specifically said in my previous blog that I am not taking any smart comments regarding my hating to travel, most of my friends regressed to the annoying 3 year old stage that we call the “Why” stage.
Seriously, you all seem to have great issues with reading comprehension –IF you can see that you need help I can give you some numbers of great professionals who can help you work through that. :)

Not Enough

Sam loves his homeschool PE class at Lifetime Fitness. Besides this being just the coolest gym you have ever seen, the PE class is amazing. Kids get the opportunity to hang out with other kids that are either doing the homeschool thing or who attend a university model program. The class is run like a super-cool PE class and the kids totally dig it.

Dad Talk

submitted by KentPotter

I participate in a "Dads Coffee" that gets together and chats up the autism latest-&-greatest and then.....well, other things besides autism. One of the things I have come to grow dependent on is the friendship of other Dads walking the walk. It is so easy to talk trash about the ills of all that we deal with. The best thing about our group is that we don't focus on the negative. Yes, we do dive deep into some of the more painful discussions...but, our intent is to enjoy the journey and the fact that we have all come together because of our common bond.

Broken Laces

submitted by KentPotter

I was speaking with a mother who recently learned that her son has Autism. She was angry to say the least. Doctor, after doctor, after doctor told her that he was fine and not to worry. He will grow out of it. He's a boy, boys talk late. Your cousin didn't talk until he was four and look at him now.......student council president. This same story plays out daily across the globe.
