Easter Weekend

submitted by kidspeak

Easter is this weekend! All your hard work this month is about to pay off. Here are the three most important tips we can give you:

Fall at the Arboretum

submitted by MattUsey

As a plant guy, I am always trying to get the family to go to the Dallas Arboretum. Until recently, the “no way” side has won the argument, relying on these downsides: the long drive into town, the $30+ cost for the family to get in, our busy schedule, and, of course, the “we-don’t-like-this-why-do-we-have-to-go-there-nobody-but-Daddy-wants-to-go” argument. That last one is particularly lame, in my opinion.
Well, the stars aligned and the waxing Venus waned on Mars, or something like that, and we finally went. And fun was had by all. The end.

When I thought I had seen everything!!!!!

submitted by ggandgrumpseast

Hurricane Ike sent GG and myself to Allen to stay with Kent, Angie, Sam and Luke. Big Bad Ike caused us to lose electricity and without power, the home gets a little warm. GG does not like a hot house, without lights and no air conditioning. Our plans were to go to Allen and GG would stay for several days, but, I would go back in a day or two. Five days later and I'm still here.

Fun at the Lake

submitted by MattUsey

We went with some friends to their lake house for Independence Day. (Yes, I’m a little behind in my blogging…) Thankfully, it was not a Joey-style July 4th.

Mosaics

I love creativity.... painting, coloring, scrapbooking memories, craft projects, decorating for parties, wrapping gifts, even organizing (sometimes that involves a lot of creativity!). I love being creative and nurturing creativity in my boys. Luke has always loved an art project or an "un-project"- just playing with play-doh, stickers, or paint.... the most important kind of art that is unstructured and free.

WALL*E

submitted by MattUsey

Carrie made a discovery in the paper recently. A local theater was offering a free showing of WALL-E on Saturday morning for special needs kids and their families. My first thought was, “Wow, that’s great. Here’s a place that is reaching out to our community.” My second thought was, “What’s the catch?

About NASA

submitted by sampotter

When we went to Houston, there was a museum called NASA. It is soooooooooo much fun. It is a space center. I just love the Dippin' Dots ice cream there. We went there with my best friend Grace and Aunt Becca and Uncle Kevin. Mom, Dad, and Luke went too. We played in the climbing toys and slid down the big yellow slide. I got to pick out a space shuttle toy and a NASA t-shirt for my gifts. I like to play outer space and I also like airplanes. I like to do the countdown like I'm about to take off.
