Run Away

Tonight I ran away from home. Literally.

When I thought I had seen everything!!!!

The indoor bike trail at the Potter's. BROTHERS BEING BROTHERS TIME

When I thought I had seen everything!!!!!

Hurricane Ike sent GG and myself to Allen to stay with Kent, Angie, Sam and Luke. Big Bad Ike caused us to lose electricity and without power, the home gets a little warm. GG does not like a hot house, without lights and no air conditioning. Our plans were to go to Allen and GG would stay for several days, but, I would go back in a day or two. Five days later and I'm still here.

Home Water Park

Ike is visiting Texas right now. We have family throughout Houston and it is pretty bad from the reports they have been sharing with us. Most of the family has been without power for a day now and there doesn't seem to be hope that it will be back on for days. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you who are directly in the path of Ike and for everyone who has family they are concerned about.

Outside Play

Just some random playing I took of the boys playing outside.

Dueling Brothers

I found some foam swords for the boys. They proceeded to duel it out in the middle of the living room.

The Miracle of Brotherhood

I'm sitting here listening to my two boys run around, play, and fight.... half laughing "You can’t get me, Batman!" and half yelling at each other "I told you to stop!!! MOM!!" Sam (7 1/2 years old, Asperger’s) and Luke (3 1/2 years old) are BUDDIES..... they play dress up together, chase, hide & seek, the Wii, wrestle, sword fighting.... usually ending in both laughter AND tears. My mom keeps telling me "You have been praying for a "normal" brother relationship.... and here it is!"

Why at 3?

Last night Sam came cruising around the corner of our bathroom on Luke's Big Wheel with a race car driver's helmet on and full face shield in place. Sam noticed Luke had put on underwear before putting on his PJs. (Sam is 7 years old & has Asperger's and Luke is 3 1/2 years old & neurotypical...in case we haven't met, this is important to know) Yes, I did say Big Wheel and shower at the same time. We have Big Wheels and tricycles inside our house and the boys seem to dig it.
