Group Asking Illinois Governor to Not Cut Funding

Illinois may soon cut funding that will negatively impact the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Southern Illinois University. Current and former students, along with program coordinators, will be personally speaking with Governor Quinn during a campus visit. The center provides services for many families throughout the area as well as trains future generations of therapists.

Utah - Budget Cuts Looming

Parents and their affected children may be negatively impacted as Utah lawmakers may have to make some tough decisions this year. With the desire to cut $400 million from this year's budget, and $800 million from the 2010 budget, state lawmakers may cut funding that as a result may shut down the "Giant Step" program that sees and treats over 200 children on the spectrum.
