New Genetic Links to Autism?

Researchers at the University of Utah along with other international researchers have discovered another possible genetic link to autism. Multiple mutations near the semaphorin 5a gene (SEMA5A) could be a possible genetic factor in autism. This gene plays an important role in the creation of a protein that is involved in the development of neurons, and the mutations can vary from one person to the next.

Wake Up America: 1 in every 91 children

submitted by KentPotter

The rate of Autism in the United States is now reported to be 1 in every 91 children. The "official" prevalence rate is up 50% from 1 in every 150 children just a few short years ago. Am I speechless? Am I surprised? Am I at a loss for words? Am I dumbfounded beyond belief? Are you nuts? Of course I am not surprised, nor bewildered, and I am definitely not speechless. Medicare needs PR help

submitted by KentPotter

I just read the article "Medicare Would Rather Buy $8000 Computer than $150 iPhone App" found over at GIZMODO.com and just about tossed my lunch across the room. The thoughts that are running through my mind are moving to fast to type. This type of archaic thinking, behavior, decision making, and communication is absurd.
