Researchers believe that even the sound of a TV in the background can lead to speech delays in children. Because interaction is key for a baby's brain, especially under the age of 2, the American Academy of Pediatrics discourages television use.

Hats off to the AAP, who won't consider that their "grab em and stab em" multiple massive vaccine schedule without any screening on top of overuse of antibiotics had anything to do with my son abruptly losing all of his speech (and a lot more) within a month of the MMR, but now wants to blame me for having the TV on.
Also had doctors say other really intelligent things like, "His brother is doing all his talking for him." Pretty smart people, these AAPs.
By the way, does anyone know what the effect of watching "Muppets on Wheels" 786 times in a row is? On me, I mean?
