Faulty Brain Wiring May Be Responsible For Social Impairments

Scientists at the University of Washington Autism Center utilized functional magnetic resonance imaging and noted that most severely socially impaired subjects displayed abnormal connectivity patterns in a network of brain regions that are heavily involved in face processing. What this shows is that regions of the brain fail to work cohesively with one another and causes inefficiency in processing data.
