U.S. Researchers, monitoring children's brains, observed that when these children were shown animated examples of something painful happening to a character, brain activity in the regions of the brain known to house empathy were active. The brain circuits that were involved were the same ones that are utilized when a person experiences pain first hand.

THis happend with my son
He thought he had hurt our puppy and came over to sooth him. He also got worried because our dog was asleep and not moving and started crying and brought my husband over to show him.
My husband told him that the dog was ok. He was just sleeping. My son smiled and kissed my husband. Whenever I am sad or crying my son comes over and hugs me. That has to be empathy. He just does that spontaneously
