Picture your child talking loudly or starts creating a fuss in a restaurant. Then another patron nearby starts complaining to you about your child. After explaining that your child is autistic, the patron gets up, shoves your child...and attacks you.

This is what happened to Richard Bennett. During a meal at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Boynton Beach, FL., Paul Blankfield became annoyed because of Bennett's 4 year old autistic son was talking loudly. When Blankfield asked Bennett multiple times, "Can you control your kid, I'm trying to have dinner", Bennett informed Blankfield that his son was autistic. After which Blankfield allegedly assaulted Bennett and police were called in to help break up the altercation. At the end, Blankfield was handcuffed and was charged with one count of simple battery.

To top off the incident Blankfield made a comment while being transported to the police station - "You know what...he gets what he deserved...(pause)...an autistic kid".
