Looking for Child Facilitator/Play buddy - Son Rise programView Edit

We will train you how to interact with him. He is sweet, do ask for what he wants in 4-5 words. He has a sense of humor too.

This is for an in-home program for our son. While working one on one with him, you will get the opporturnity to experience what life is like for a child with autism. As a member of his team you will be an active participant in helping to engage and motivate our son to reach his full potential.

This child centered program is based on The Son-Rise Method taught by The Autism Treatment Center of America and featured in the book and TV movie Son-Rise, The Miracle Continues. (Autism Treatment of America Website. This program uses the child's motivation to encourage him to interact. A special room is set up that encourages him to communicate with us.

Since we have started this program, Our Son is more social, speaks more, and his eye contact has been great. He communicates his wants in 4-5 words sentence and he is asking for hugs and kisses.

Requirements:
-Energy, excitement, enthusiasm
-Want to make an impact on a young life
-Welcome being a part of a team approach to learning/teaching
-Play sessions are 2hrs per session 2x or more per week
-Committed and Reliable
-Must need to read at least 1 book regarding The Son-Rise Method
-Must be able to attend team meeting every 2 or 3 weeks. usually on Sundays 4-6pm).

No experience necessary. Individuals with musical instrument talents are VERY WELCOME. Our son loves to hear music.
Older teenagers, baby sitting/nanny experience, individuals that loves working with kids are also strongly encouraged to apply.
