When I thought I had seen everything!!!!!

Hurricane Ike sent GG and myself to Allen to stay with Kent, Angie, Sam and Luke. Big Bad Ike caused us to lose electricity and without power, the home gets a little warm. GG does not like a hot house, without lights and no air conditioning. Our plans were to go to Allen and GG would stay for several days, but, I would go back in a day or two. Five days later and I'm still here.

Not all is bad though. This trip has allowed me to see "OUR BOYS" in action. I was able to take Sam to school, watch Sam and Luke play on the trampoline, ride bikes, go to a David Chicken concert, watch Sam interact with kids at the concert, attend a karate class and best of all, watch Sam and Luke playing together. I also went with Luke and his Dad to his cooking class this week. GG, Kent & I watched Sam pass his karate test today and he received a new belt. Sam and Luke are reaching the "rough and tumble" age or as I call it, "brothers, just being brothers" time!

"JUST BEING BROTHERS" comes with a few bruises, head bumps, "timeouts" and instances of minor disobedience. Then we see more "timeouts and a few tears! The nice thing, all of this repeats on a daily basis so we can get ready for this"rough and tumble" time. This age only lasts about 50 years.

I just smile when I see "JUST BEING BROTHERS" time. A couple of years ago, Sam did not understand how to interact with kids nor did he have any desire to "play" or pay any attention to his brother. I see him struggle a little, but, he is a real trooper. Each time I observe him, I can see great strides in Sam's interaction skills with both his brother and his playmates.

This leads me to the title of this blog, "WHEN I THOUGHT I HAD SEEN EVERYTHING"!!!!!! I can't really express this, so I added a short video. I have seen bike trails, but, this is really special. Watch Sam slow down so he can take the lead, and then Luke takes the "Short Cut".

Anyway, I've got to go. I read Sam a bedtime story about a sleepover, and then there is Luke, all about autobots, the ultimate nullifer and all those action figures! Grumps is really pooped!

Enjoy
