Grant Review: I am pleased with how things turned out for the Grant. I was worried at first. Is it effective? Will people listen? Yes, it is effective and people listened. This was a good end to the PAC (Peer Advisory Committee). Reginal Events, like the March for Respect in McAllen, Texas, was atteneded by many people in that community and now We have Advocates asking about "Get the Power" training.
Conference: I didn't go to this year's Conference, but I didn't feel bad about it. At the "Get the Power" workshop, people were lining up to get a training video for their Chapters. People like watching the DVD. Their favorites were: "The Community Living Cafe" and the "Trust, Catch, and Fall" game. I am so glad that people want to have the "Get the Power" training video to be seen in their Chapters and Communities.
I am upset that I didn't think of sending out flyers, to all the SSLC members, like Julie did. I wish I had thought of that , but I am so Proud of her.
Margarethe made me feel so Proud because she sent a Running List to all SSCL's in Texas.
Lori and Dori made me feel Jealous because: Lori is going to do a training of "Get the Power" to a high school in September; Dori 's group will show the video at her local Chapter meeting starting in September. I wish I had thought of that, those are Great Ideas, darn. However, I am so Proud of both of them.
Website: I am so glad that the Website of The Texas Advocates is being redesigned. It will be up and running in November. One of the changes is that it will be more User Friendly, plus it will have Video Interaction and a Parents' Guide. Every page will have a Donation Button. I'm so happy. the Youtube videos of "Get the Power" made me feel good. A new tab called "Leadership" will be used. I am so glad I inspired this. It will make me feel better when Kindra uses the "Advisor" button. There was a mention of having a good "Resources" button on the Webpage. Everyone including me, was glad about that.
