Like to Travel?

That would be a NO!

Although, I specifically said in my previous blog that I am not taking any smart comments regarding my hating to travel, most of my friends regressed to the annoying 3 year old stage that we call the “Why” stage.
Seriously, you all seem to have great issues with reading comprehension –IF you can see that you need help I can give you some numbers of great professionals who can help you work through that. :)
So, because most of my friends have been nagging me about this, I decided to write a blog about it. Lots of other people out there are probably saying :”Who cares?” and my response is: “My dear friends!” (I don’t have many of those therefore I am trying to keep the ones I have so bare with me. I know you can do it!)

So, why I hate traveling?
Well, first of all, I did move half way around the world – that requires a lot of traveling – I am not only talking about the trip here – that was not bad as I was so excited about the change. Later on I realized that it meant leaving a lot behind but that is a whole different blog (and no, I am not going to bore you with that).

I am also talking about the yearly visit back home that I call “vacation”. Let me tell you right now, there is nothing relaxing about it. First of all, you have to start preparing about a month in advance – working more hours (so that you keep things running smoothly while you are gone), going shopping for presents for the loved ones, going shopping for clothes as the weather there is a lot different than here, packing everything in the house from shampoo to 5 pairs of shoes as I am a woman and I don’t like to be caught unprepared (again, I am not taking any smart comments on this). Ok, the trip back home takes anywhere from 16 to 18 hours (15 of those on 2 different planes)!! By the time I get there I am so tired that I don’t want to see anyone and I also have jet lag. But wait a minute! Everybody knows I’m home and they come to visit during their day time – how selfish! If they could come in the middle of the night when I wake up because it is morning here it would be great! :) No luck with that one although I tried to suggest it to people – apparently that won’t work because they have jobs during the day. How selfish! This is all about me people! :)

So, after about 5 days I sort of get on their schedule and I get to enjoy some more travelling (driving) across the country to see my relatives who live on the other side of the country. So, after about 6-8 hours of driving, we arrive, we visit with them for the rest of the night, go to sleep, wake up and get back in the car to drive back home. Now, I only have 4 more days left of my vacation. (Don’t get me wrong. I love my family! They are great people!! But, I hate the traveling time – I can’t wait unlit a smart person invents some machine like the ones you see in those sci-fi movies. One second you are here and the next you are on another planet. Now, I would take it even if it took a few minutes and I don’t even have to go to a different planet!) The next 2 days I get ready for my trip back. The final two days are spent traveling home to the US. When I get back here, I am as tired as I was before (if not more). Since I typically begin work the first day after arriving home, there is no adjustment or rest from jet lag.

So, to me travel = being stressed, tired, bored (not a lot you can do on a plane or in a car), annoyed…you get the picture.

If, after this long explanation, you still have questions regarding why I hate traveling you need to keep them to yourself :). I am sure that the people who read this (hoping it was something less boring) will really appreciate it.

On the road filming

Since you like to travel so much I am sure you will get a kick out of the shoots in Italy, Romania (your home), and Australia. Keep up the great work and charge on Road Warrior! Wait just a second. Oh, you don't like to travel. I guess we'll have to send Matt instead. He'll just have to pay for the additional carry on item required for those hair care products he uses. :)

bouncin' and behavin'

No problem there. Carrie will let me use her special fold-out case that can hold about 10 or 12 bottles, and that should be enough (for a short trip).

For Cristina: Noroc!

Nice!

So we can start having conversations in romanian now, right Matt?

Errr... it might be a one-sided conversation

Actually all I know is "noroc." But that seems to be a pretty good word, and this is the first time I think I've ever been able to use it to someone who knows what it means. If we all get together over some good tuica, I'll give the toast!

Sounds like a plan

my parents are coming next week. i will ask them to bring some tuica for you. :)
