There are about 30 kids in my daughter's middle school. Of those 30 only 2 are girls.
The school "PTA" was considering having a dance for Halloween. I had to point out that a dance would not work very well with two girls and one of which does not like boys or music.
My daughter hates loud noise or constant noise. She has always hated boys unless they prove themselves useful in some way. She is germ phobic and gets upset when anyone is in her space. You can not imagine my surprise when I got a call from the mother of a boy in her class inviting my daughter over.
I really can't say much as she gets really angry when I talk to people about her autism and the fact that I blog about her bothers her. She may even read this so I have to be careful what I write. The mother assured me that her son was not sophisticated or mature enough to "make a move" on my DD. I assured her that he would be severely hurt if he tried. Given that she gets uncomfortable with people in her space, is freaky about germs and really lacks social skills - I didn't think we had much to worry about.
This social outing happened on Friday and from all accounts it went well.....
I have more questions than answers and clearly I have entered a whole new world.
