Did you know that dental amalgams (aka – “silver” fillings, which contain 50% Mercury) are the second largest selling Hg-containing product in the US? In case you missed it, I wrote about the dangers of Mercury and a few of the ways (including amalgams) we are exposed to the verified neurotoxin here. But, the good news is: some very determined people in California have raised their voices and concerns about the dangers of dental amalgams.
Thanks to the actions of these individuals, the City Council of Costa Mesa, California, has unanimously adopted a resolution - the first of its kind - which encourages local dentists to stop using dental amalgams, opting instead for safe, non-toxic options. The resolution also calls on state and federal agencies to eliminate amalgams all together. Read more about the ground-breaking resolution and the risks associated with dental amalgams here.
