I work with teachers to set up classroom all the time. I find these items helpful when setting up a classroom.
• 2 boxes of sandwich size zipper baggies
• 2 boxes of gallon zipper baggies
• permanent markers
• Velcro ™ dots (pre-cut) or Velcro strips
• cardstock paper
• foam board --this can make an instant choice board or communcaiton board and it is sturdy
• two 1/2 inch binders for each student
• 2 2-pocket folders for each student
• dividers for binders --or use construction paper of different colors
• a 3 hole punch device
• clear duct tape- Walmrt!
• clear packing tape (to use as a quick laminator)- if you dont have a laminater use clear tape on both sides of the paper
• self-stick laminating sheets- (expensive if you ask me)
• depending on your school system—a pack of 8 x 11 inch paper
• white index cards small and large- to make quick sight word cards, number cards, letter cards, name cards, etc.
• 6-12 empty dish pan tubs or bins (dollar store tubs will work) or any bins, bins, bins and containers with lids
That is just to get started so that you will have enough storage and organizing materials. It gets better from there!!!
